Ovalworld – one of the UK’s leading discount wallpaper retailers, approached us to evaluate their online presence. We analysed the site structure and image from the ground up that resulted in a complete re-brand and site structure overhaul.
Whilst being a strong locally recognised business, Ovalworld as a brand did not resonate with customers online who knew nothing of their heritage. Absolute rebranded the online arm of the business as “Wallpaper Central” with a style and ethos that would help engage with potential customers not just in their usual catchment area – but nationwide. The brand was not just a simple new logo, it was extended to all communications with customers, from how to conduct enquiries through to how to package and follow up sample requests.
With the brand now positioned correctly, we turned our attention to the underlying structure of the website. This was completely
overhauled to make the buying process as simple as possible. With a huge catalogue of styles, it was particularly important for browsing customers to be able to intelligently navigate via style or colour. A bespoke filtering system was created for our ecommerce system, which allowed products to be filtered on the fly via multiple parameters.
The site was built with search engine consideration in mind, ensuring that everything was as friendly as possible to facilitate an effective ongoing SEO campaign.
The end result was a fresh new look, a user-friendly ecommerce website and a renewed visibility in a competitive marketplace. This all added up to a 700% increase in sales that is improving month on month.
