We have been very busy in the studio recently, crafting a sparkly new brand selling a range of exclusive jewellery online.
Absolute were approached by Peter's Jewellers Ltd, a well respected North West based jewellers with a successful range of stores in key locations in the area. The company wanted to diversify and create revenue by offering a product range for customers to buy online.
With the stores having a different customer profile than the ecommerce shop (which also carries a different range of products than the Peter's Jewellers stores) it made sense to create a new brand for the online arm of the company. is a brand that on face value is free of the "small town jewellers" connotation but still carries with it the exclusivity, heritage, trust and quality of service you would expect from the family run company. The result is Affetto Jewellery.
On entering the design phase, we felt that the images from the jewellery suppliers just did not cut the mustard or communicate our message, so we organised a lifestyle photoshoot with models supplied by Maverick Models in Manchester. The resulting shoot gave us a bank of brand images, used on the home page of the website to communicate the tone of the brand and help customer buy-in to the feel of the products.
It was key that the website had to be easy for users to find the product they are looking for. Using a context-sensitive filtering system, the shopper has the ability to quickly see products via materials, price, size and a multitude of other parameters.
The product catalogue is built around a complex matrix of data. Absolute wrote several clever scripts which monitor the constantly fluctuating material market prices and adjusts product prices and margins accordingly to ensure the customer is getting the best value.
