Why do we love infographics?

alt

What is an infographic should probably be the first point! An infographic is quite simply a nicely designed way of showing a lot of statistics, or otherwise boring looking information.
In this digital age we expect to get everything handed to us as and when we need it, on our phones or through the TV information is everywhere. The quicker a potential customer can get to the facts the more likely you are to convert them to make a sale. If someone has to trawl through pages and pages of copy the find the percentage the need to make a decision the chances are they have already gone elsewhere. As a business you should love infographics because presenting your facts clearly and visually could be the mean 30 times more people reading your information and potentially buying your product or service.
As designers we love things to be visual – research states that 90% of information transmitted to the brain is visual. Infographics  allow us to be creative with a potentially serious (boring) subject, they let us make the most of statistics and figures – which pleases us much more than just writing them on a page!
We should really stop writing and let the information do the talking...

Fore! We launch new website for Bolton golfer Kelly Tidy

kelly-blog-image

We have recently launched a new website for local female golfer Kelly Tidy.

Kelly has been playing golf for a number of years, competing at international level and picking up countless titles along the way. This year, Kelly represented Great Britain and Ireland in the Curtis Cup (as part of the winning team) as well as becoming the English Amateur Champion.

The new website design serves as the official place for people to keep track of Kelly's game and find out about her life on and off the course as she aims to go Pro in 2013.

Working in Tandem with Intel

alt

We have enjoyed a great relationship with Intel since working with them on the creation of a bespoke infographic to illustrate the growth of embedded internet.

We were recently contacted by the company to get involved with the design of their Team Intel cycling kits, creating an on-brand jersey which would be worn by the team this season in several events.

Getting cosy with Rowton Hall

We are really happy to announce that Absolute have won a 6 way pitch to look after the digital identity, branding and marketing for Rowton Hall Hotel & Spa.
Rowton Hall is a family owned and run hotel set in leafy surroundings near Chester. As well as being a well known venue for lavish weddings, Rowton Hall also boasts a spa, health club, conferencing facilities, award winning restaurant and rooms individually decorated with their own unique style.
Absolute were chosen to help the team at Rowton with a new marketing strategy to help shout about how great they are! The first phase of this process will involve a lot of work on the brand strategy and their position in the marketplace, with a new website following closely behind. We are all excited about this project as it has so much scope, and we feel we can have a real effect on many aspects of the business.
We’re so pleased to be working with Rowton Hall, it’s a great venue with a very passionate team. We’ve just completed a two day photoshoot and we all feel like part of the Rowton family now! We can see a great future with this client.
Keep an eye on the blog to see how this project comes together over the coming weeks.

Absolute get nominated for a DADI Award

dadi-awards

We are happy to announce that we have been nominated for a DADI award for our work on the Official Amir Khan website project!

The DADI (the Drum Awards for the Digital Industries) recognise, reward and shout about "digital excellence" nationwide. Entries are judged on innovation, strategic thinking, effectiveness and their ability to deliver tangible results. Our work has been nominated in the "Travel / Leisure / Sports Website or Campaign" category.

We feel it is a big achievement for a little agency in Bolton just to be nominated in a national award. We are in the mix with some brilliant projects, and shoulder to shoulder with great agencies such as Code Computerlove who we are fans of here at Absolute.

The results will be announced at the home of Arsenal FC – London’s Emirates Stadium on Thursday 8th November. Fingers crossed we will have a great night and hopefully a nice bit of new perspex for the studio!
