Absolute get nominated for a Mi Award

alt

Absolute are proud to announce we have been shortlisted for a Mi Award, in the ‘Best Sport or Leisure Marketing Strategy’ category, for our work with Amir Khan on the iconic sportsman's official website.

The Mi Awards are the final event in the MI Network calendar. The awards are open to design agencies across the UK and attract some big name brands, so we’re really pleased to be lining up alongside them.

The Future of Mobile

alt

Last year Absolute were briefed by Intel UK to develop an infographic on the “Explosion of Embedded Internet”. This documented the development of connected technology, from the first main frame computer which was launched in 1968 all the way up to 2020. It was a very interesting and insightful project that allowed us to get under the skin of the speed of mobile phone development and embedded internet. At the same time we were developing some print brochures for Sony (Sony Ericsson as it was then) in Sweden to promote the launch of their new phones and associated products to retailers worldwide

Why do we love infographics?

alt

What is an infographic should probably be the first point! An infographic is quite simply a nicely designed way of showing a lot of statistics, or otherwise boring looking information.
In this digital age we expect to get everything handed to us as and when we need it, on our phones or through the TV information is everywhere. The quicker a potential customer can get to the facts the more likely you are to convert them to make a sale. If someone has to trawl through pages and pages of copy the find the percentage the need to make a decision the chances are they have already gone elsewhere. As a business you should love infographics because presenting your facts clearly and visually could be the mean 30 times more people reading your information and potentially buying your product or service.
As designers we love things to be visual – research states that 90% of information transmitted to the brain is visual. Infographics  allow us to be creative with a potentially serious (boring) subject, they let us make the most of statistics and figures – which pleases us much more than just writing them on a page!
We should really stop writing and let the information do the talking...

Fore! We launch new website for Bolton golfer Kelly Tidy

kelly-blog-image

We have recently launched a new website for local female golfer Kelly Tidy.

Kelly has been playing golf for a number of years, competing at international level and picking up countless titles along the way. This year, Kelly represented Great Britain and Ireland in the Curtis Cup (as part of the winning team) as well as becoming the English Amateur Champion.

The new website design serves as the official place for people to keep track of Kelly's game and find out about her life on and off the course as she aims to go Pro in 2013.

Working in Tandem with Intel

alt

We have enjoyed a great relationship with Intel since working with them on the creation of a bespoke infographic to illustrate the growth of embedded internet.

We were recently contacted by the company to get involved with the design of their Team Intel cycling kits, creating an on-brand jersey which would be worn by the team this season in several events.
